Overview

You’ll be part of a team committed to providing consistently superior long-term investment results and services to our mutual fund and institutional investors.

Our investment professionals have unique experience and act on individual convictions. The process encourages diversity of thought and style; you won’t be forced into a mold or particular approach to investing. Investors ultimately benefit from this variety of outlooks and styles. Research

Our investment process is characterized by a focus on global research.

  • Under our multiple portfolio counselor system, assets are managed by portfolio counselors (or managers) and investment analysts.
  • All of our investment analysts manage money; we offer equal respect and opportunity to investment analysts and portfolio counselors. Many investment analysts choose to remain in that role throughout their career, while others follow a different path based on individual interest and business need.
  • We work in small groups within independent research units. This allows them the flexibility needed to share and debate ideas, an environment we believe leads to better decisions and investment results.
  • We operate multiple investment companies, which allows for flexibility, autonomy and strong relationships with your colleagues.
  • You’ll benefit from the resources (technology, travel, experienced colleagues) that come from being part of a large organization.

To determine a security’s true worth, our investment professionals get to know a company inside and out. Many of our investment analysts have been building relationships with the same companies for decades. Our global presence and depth of experienced investment professionals provide unique research advantages. We operate one of the industry’s most globally integrated research networks, visiting companies both before and after investing. Our analysts sit down face to face with company executives, but they’ll also meet with suppliers, bankers, customers and competitors to get a well-rounded view of a firm’s operations.

Campus recruiting

We recruit for full-time positions in the fall semester and for internships in the winter and spring.

Our interview process is designed to help us learn more about your academic and professional experience, background and interests. It’s also your opportunity to learn more about the Capital Group and the investment analyst role. Throughout the process, many different associates will share their perspectives with you.

  • On-campus or phone interview (30 to 45 minutes)
  • A series of interviews in our offices (location will vary)
